You should also take care that you specially save the last version of a score in 7.1.3 format, so that you do not lose any information by over-writing it with a score of the same name in a later version of Sibelius. Desktop no-name, Microsoft Surface Book.Īdrian, the user-edited House Styles exported from 8.6 live in a different folder to the user-edited House Styles exported from earlier versions of Sibelius, so you need not be worried that House Styles that you export from 8.6 will somehow over-write or change the House Styles that you with to continue using in 7.1.3. Please try the above procedure and see whether, after importing the 8.x House Style version into 8.x scores, the treatment of "Swing" in System Text styles is now correct. To make sure about this, remove the original 7.1.3 version of the House Style from the "House Styles" folder for Sibelius 8.x. From now onwards, use that newly created (step 4) House Style rather than the original 7.1.3 version (step 1) when you wish to import that House Style into 8.x scores. Still in Sibelius 8.x, from that empty score, export a new House Style and give it a sensible name ĥ. Using Sibelius 8.x, open that score file that you just saved from 7.1.3 Ĥ. Using Sibelius 7.1.3, create an empty score using the House Style that you wish to take forward into 7.5.x or 8.x ģ. I emphasise that it is the House Style file itself that I would like to look at, not a score into which that House Style has been imported.Īnd here is a potential fix for importing pre-7.5 House Styles into post-7.5 scores:ġ. sib you might be able to attach it to a post in this forum). If you change the filename extension from. Please can you e-mail the exact House Style file to me? (You will need to copy the House Style file out of the "House Styles" folder in the User Data area for Sibelius 7.1.3 in order to attach it to an e-mail. I suspect that it depends crucially on the origins of (a) the score you are working on, and (b) the House Style that you import. Posted by Laurence Payne - 10 Jun 10:37AMĪdrian, do you have a precise reproduction procedure for the "Swing" problem that you had above? I can't reproduce it. What the hell are those guys at Avid doing with my money?
Mac os 8.6 cursor plus#
Re-editing the duration values in the playback dictionary makes no difference.Īnd I reported the double barline plus rehearsal mark catastrophe several months ago and it's still broken. It seems also that when I import a house style into 8.6, it buggers up swing playback and there is no way of correcting it that I know of. Now I don't know what is going to happen when I klik my mouse. I have lived with this thru' eight generations of Sibelius.
Mac os 8.6 cursor manual#
The manual states that when in note input mode, the mouse pointer turns solid blue. Instead I get an unwanted note planted in an unwanted position. When I see a regular pointer, I assume that I can use my mouse for selecting objects. Well, Laurence, it's a "big deal" for me and I find it a major irritation. The 'shadow note' shows the cursor is loaded, but it no longer turns blue. Re: 8.6 is behaving badly - Patrick O'Keefe, 14 Jun 04:41PMġ.
